Rute Figueiredo is an architect and an architectural historian (M.A. in Art History), whose main interests are the architectural disciplinary culture, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and the architectural discourse published in periodical press. Author of the study Architecture and Critical Discourse in Portugal 1893-1918 (Prize José Figueiredo’2008 awarded by the Portuguese National Academy of Fine Arts), she has presented her work at national and international congresses, such as at the Society of Architectural Historians. Between 2012-2015 she coordinated the R&D project The Site of Discourse, sponsored by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology [PTDC/CPC-HA T/4894/2012].

Rute has held research grants from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, the Department of Architecture ETH Zurich, and from the Swiss National Scientific Foundation. She is a member of the European Architectural History Network, of the Society of Architectural Historians, of the Institute of Art History – New University of Lisbon, and of the Arnaldo Araújo Studies Center CEEA|ESAP. She is concluding her PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (2017). Currently she is research fellow of MODSCAPES project.
